Serum polychlorinated biphenyl levels and circulating miRNAs in non-obese women with and without polycystic ovary syndrome

چکیده
Introduction Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), organic lipophilic pollutants that accumulate through diet and increase with age, have been associated polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) shown to affect microRNA (miRNA) expression. This work aimed determine if PCBs were circulating miRNAs whether there any correlations serum PCB/miRNA levels hormonal changes. Methods 29 non-obese PCOS healthy control women, similar age body mass index (BMI), had their measured together 7 indicator (PCB28, PCB52, PCB101, PCB118, PCB138, PCB153, PCB180) using high resolution gas chromatography coupled spectrometry. Results In the combined study cohort, four (hsa-miR-139-5p, hsa-miR-424-5p, hsa-miR-195-5p, hsa-miR-335-5p) correlated PCBs, but none metabolic parameters. hsa-miR-335-5p FSH. When stratified, 25 in controls compared only one (hsa-miR-193a-5p) PCOS; of these parameters BMI, insulin resistance, or inflammation (C-reactive protein, CRP). However, controls, hsa-miR-26a-5p, hsa-miR-193a-5p, hsa-miR-2110 hsa-miR-195-5p positively luteinizing hormone (LH), hsa-miR-99b-5p hsa-miR-146b-5p estradiol, hsa-miR-193a-5p progesterone, follicle stimulating (FSH), hsa-miR-139-5p negatively anti-müllerian (AMH) (all p <0.05). cases estradiol. Conclusion this cohort no difference PCB levels, correlating menstrual cycle factors menstruating versus anovulatory subjects. The PCB-associated did not correlate non-reproductive suggests effects on may result changes hypothalamo-ovarian axis thus fertility.

Differential Expression of Circulating miRNA-103 in Women with and without Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Background and Aims: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) has a largely unknown etiology and is a common heterogeneous endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age, characterized by polycystic ovaries, hyperandrogenism, insulin resistance, and chronic anovulation. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, noncoding RNA sequences that negatively regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. miR...

Serum visfatin levels in non-obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome and matched controls
Objective The purpose of the current study was to compare the circulating levels of visfatin between women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and those without PCOS and to assess the correlations between visfatin levels and various parameters. Methods This case-control study recruited 74 PCOS patients and 74 age- and body mass index (BMI)-matched controls. Serum visfatin levels were evalua...
متن کاملRelationship between Serum Lipoprotein Levels and Insulin Resistance in Non-obese Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Background: To investigate the association between serum lipoprotein levels and insulin resistance in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Methods: Twenty-five PCOS patients and twentyfive age-matched controls were enrolled in the study. Serum levels of luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), fasting glucose (FBG), fasting insulin (FINS), serum triglycerides (TG)...
متن کاملvisfatin and resistin serum levels in normal-weight and obese women with polycystic ovary syndrome
conclusions while the expression of visfatin and resistin may be upregulated in women with pcos, it is not translated at serum level. results serum levels of resistin were higher among both obese and normal-weight women with pcos in comparison with the controls (2.36 and 1.58 ng/ml in normal-weight women with pcos and controls, respectively; and 2.10 and 1.91 ng/ml in obese women with pcos and ...
